BIOGRAFIA MARIANO CASANOVA

Nacido en el Barrio de La Jota (Zaragoza, España) en 1964. En 1976, con tan solo 12 años de edad, crea, junto a sus amigos de infancia, su primer grupo de Rock, al que llama “Zen”. Un año después, en la noche del 24 de diciembre de 1977, tocan en directo, por primera vez, en la puerta de la iglesia de aquel vecindario obrero, que apenas echa a andar en el extrarradio de la ciudad: “El cura, Don Alfonso, nos dio su permiso para tocar tras la “Misa de Gallo”; los vecinos encendieron allí mismo una gran hoguera; las canciones, algunas propias, otras de Triana, Deep Purple, Santana, o Moddy Blues, tocadas por nosotros - unos chavales que apenas habíamos dejado atrás nuestros pantalones cortos - sonaron aquella noche con una fuerza tan grande y tan liberadora, que hoy sería difícil de concebir siquiera. Todo era posible en aquellos años de ilusión e inocencia, cuando lo oscuro comenzaba a quedar atrás, en aquel pequeño rincón del mundo.”

Después, en 1982, con 18 años recién cumplidos, Mariano Casanova, junto a Alberto Moliner, Tito Gracia y Javier Paricio, amigos y músicos del barrio, fundaría Distrito 14, el grupo que lideró como compositor, cantante y guitarrista durante 25 años y que le dio a conocer en numerosos países. Con distintas formaciones en el grupo a lo largo del tiempo, Mariano Casanova grabó discos en España, Alemania, Cuba y EEUU, país este último donde se produjo buena parte de su largo recorrido. En España abrieron giras de David Bowie, Placebo y Sting y compartieron escenario con Peter Hammill, Jackson Browne, Johnny Thunders o Doctor Feelgood, entre otros.Además son muchos los grandes artistas que colaboraron en sus discos, entre otros Antonio Vega, Aurora Beltrán (Tahúres Zurdos), Josemi Carmona (Ketama), Enrique Heredia “Negri” (La Barbería del Sur), Eva Amaral, Enrique Bunbury y muy especialmente Ollie Halsall (el genial guitarrista de Kevin Ayers, Patto, Tempest, John Cale, Nico, Brian Eno, Radio Futura etc.) que puede considerarse el descubridor de la voz y las composiciones de Mariano Casanova: “Fue Ollie Halsall, quien al escuchar casualmente una maqueta de Distrito 14, les ofreció producirles nuevas canciones, con las que llamaron la atención de las compañías multinacionales. Esto les permitió firmar, finalmente, un contrato discográfico con EMI” (Ollie Halsall Archive).

La historia de Distrito 14 y de Mariano Casanova, fue filmada en 2008 por el laureado director de cine Juanma Bajo Ulloa, en un largometraje documental titulado "Distrito 14: Historia de un Grupo de Rock". Bajo Ulloa y Mariano recorrieron juntos, durante dos años, importantes festivales internacionales de cine por todo el mundo. En España, la película, se presentó en el Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián, en “La Seminci” de Valladolid y en el Festival de Cine de Gijón, entre otros. En estos momentos este documental se puede ver en plataformas de televisión: Lleva programado desde hace tres años en España en Prime Video y en Runtime, y en México en Roku Channel.

En 2015, Mariano Casanova, editó su primer disco en solitario titulado “Al Final de la Ciudad Dormida”, que no promocionó y solo presentó en directo en una Première en París y en algunos pequeños conciertos en España, apenas anunciados. Dos años más tarde, en 2017, hizo algunos conciertos alrededor del mundo, que comenzaron en el Cinéma Majestic Passy de París, continuaron en Japón (Tokyo, Fukuoka y Kamakura) y terminaron en el Festival LAMC de Nueva York. Ésta fue la primera parte de un tour, que en 2018 continuó con ocho conciertos más en 5 ciudades de Japón.

Excepto en estas presentaciones puntuales, Mariano Casanova, ha permanecido sin tocar en directo durante 17 años, hasta este 2025 en que regresa definitivamente a los escenarios.

ALGUNAS CURIOSIDADES

Tras un comienzo fulgurante de Distrito 14 en su tierra en 1982, enseguida hicieron giras y grabaron discos fuera de España. Esto fue una tónica desde el principio y hasta el final de la historia del grupo: En Alemania grabaron “Hijos del Siglo XX” en 1984, en Cuba “A mitad del Camino” en 1998 y en EEUU “Live in Chicago” en 1999. Hasta la fecha, Distrito 14, son el único grupo de rock extranjero que ha hecho giras en el Oriente Cubano y actuado en el gran Teatro Heredia de Santiago de Cuba, obteniendo el Diploma del Ateneo Cultural de dicha ciudad en 1996. Asimismo, fue el primer grupo extranjero,de pop o rock, en grabar en aquél país un disco en directo. Por otra parte, en EEUU comenzaron en 1997 actuando en San Francisco, Los Ángeles y Las Vegas y finalmente establecieron su residencia entre New York y Chicago entre 1999 y 2001, sin dejar de actuar de costa a costa, a veces en lugares tan emblemáticos como el gran Aragon Ballroom de Chicago, o en Conferencias y Festivales como el SXSW en Austin (Texas), o el LAMC en New York. En EEUU fueron editados dos de sus discos, “Live in Chicago” y “Noches con Sol” y compartieron escenario con Jaguares y Fabulosos Cadillacs, entre otros muchos.

El Monasterio de Veruela

Durante los últimos años de Distrito 14, formado ya únicamente por tres miembros (Mariano, Enrique Mavilla en el bajo y teclados y Juan Millán en la batería) hay que destacar su retiro para vivir en un monasterio cisterciense durante el invierno de 2001. El lugar elegido fue el “Monasterio de Veruela” (S.XII) situado en las faldas del “Moncayo”, una montaña llena de leyendas fantásticas,narradas en la obra del gran escritor Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. Ese “apartarse del mundo” por parte del grupo,dio como fruto dos discos: “El Sueño de la Tortuga” (2004) y “Concierto en Veruela” (2006), grabado éste último en directo en la iglesia del monasterio y editado junto a la filmación de la actuación, más un documental sobre la experiencia monástica de aquél invierno inolvidable.

Distrito 14: Historia de un Grupo de Rock

El último concierto de Distrito 14, tras veinticinco años de historia, fue celebrado en Zaragoza, el 9 de febrero de 2008, sin imaginar siquiera por parte de Mariano, ni de Enrique Mavilla (solo quedaron los dos durante los últimos años del grupo), que aquella despedida definitiva de los escenarios iba a convertirse en el final soñado por cualquier banda de rock. Y es que, la filmación de aquél concierto por parte del director de cine español Juanma Bajo Ulloa, fue el origen de algo mucho más grande de lo esperado, ya que éste se encargó de llevar a la gran pantalla la historia de Distrito 14 y de Mariano. El resultado fue el largometraje documental titulado “Distrito 14: Historia de un Grupo de Rock”, con el que conmovieron al público en un gran número de importantes festivales internacionales de cine en Latinoamérica, Europa y EEUU, entre ellos los principales en España. Algunos titulares fueron éstos:

Finalmente, el recorrido por los festivales de cine, se convirtió en un largo periplo de dos años, sin duda un inesperado y magnífico colofón a la carrera, al frente del grupo Distrito 14, para Mariano Casanova, que fue reconocido - como nunca hasta entonces - por la crítica y el público cinéfilo.

Posteriormente, sería editado el CD “Distrito 14 & Amigos”, conteniendo el concierto de despedida y después un DVD con el documental. Éste último incluía, además,un CD titulado “Quedaron Atrás” que contenía una selección de canciones que, durante la carrera del grupo,inexplicablemente, habían quedado sin editar, entre ellas dos pertenecientes al primer disco de Distrito 14 grabado en Frankfurt (Alemania) en 1984, que hasta hoypermanece inédito.

PRIMER DISCO EN SOLITARIO: “AL FINAL DE LA CIUDAD DORMIDA”

Tras aquél sorprendente final de Distrito 14 y transcurrido un largo paréntesis de siete años, Mariano Casanova editó por fin, en 2015, su primer álbum en solitario titulado “Al Final de la Ciudad Dormida”, en el que le acompañaron grandes músicos: Entre ellos, al bajo y a los teclados, su amigo y compañero de grupo durante diecisiete años,Enrique Mavilla (Que también se encargó de la producción artística) y los guitarristas Ramón Arroyo (Los Secretos) y Mané Larregla (Distrito 14, Sinfonity, Archguitar Dúo).

Mariano apenas presentó en directo el nuevo disco, pero realizó cinco videoclips con las nuevas canciones, entre ellos uno en París para “Una Noche de Invierno”, otropara la canción “Domingo Lluvioso” con el Circo Italiano y otro para la canción “De Colores” junto a una Danza cuyo origen se pierde en el tiempo y se celebra en la oscuridad de la noche, bajo la única luz de las antorchas. Esta misteriosa y desconocida celebración, que permanece viva en un pequeño pueblo de su tierra, a una hora y media de Zaragoza, es la “Contradanza de Cetina”.

Algunos críticos han hablado de Mariano Casanova como un exponente del “Art-Rock” en España, otros como inventor del “Rockmanticismo”. Creador de canciones vividas, con voz de registro grave e inconfundible, es un autor considerado entre la profesión, tanto musicalmente, como por sus letras.

En algunas de sus actuaciones en solitario en Japón fue acompañado por destacados músicos, como Satoru SF Tuji (Chapman Stick), Kazz Tuji (guitarra, percusión), Aikonga (Percusión), Kin-Chan (guitarra y percusión) y Takashi Sagasegawa (guitarra).

Esto contaba Mariano en la noche del 31 de agosto de 2018, sobre uno de los conciertos de esta gira: “Hoy he tocado en un Templo Zen en Fukuoka. Ha sido una de las actuaciones más importantes de mi vida. Este es un templo que se encuentra en el mismo recinto del primer templo Zen que se erigió en Japón. No había dicho ni publicitado nada sobre esto, ya que era una actuación solo para los monjes y la comunidad del templo. Es una larga historia hasta llegar hasta aquí, que espero contar algún día. Han pasado 40 años, desde que de niños hicimos nuestra primera actuación con aquel grupo al que puse como nombre “Zen”. Así que, hoy, en este impensable escenario, me he acordado de cada uno de los que tocamos juntos aquella primera vez, en la puerta de la iglesia del barrio, y de tantos amigos de la infancia. A todos ellos he dedicado la última canción. Ojalá hubieran estado aquí celebrando conmigo nuestro 40 aniversario.”

MARIANO CASANOVA

At just 13 years old, in 1977, Mariano Casanova put on his first concert in the entranceway of the church in the neighborhood where he grew up, La Jota. This was with the first band he formed with his childhood friends. The name of the band was Zen. Later, in 1982, he started the group Distrito 14, the rock group he led during 25 years as writer, singer and guitarist. It is with this band that brought him to be known in numerous countries.

With Distrito 14 he recorded albums in Spain, Germany, Cuba and the US, the latter being where much of his long journey took place. In Spain, he opened tours for David Bowie and Sting, among others. In addition, there are many great artists who collaborated and continue to collaborate with him on his albums and at his concerts. The amazing and moving story of his life, together with Distrito 14, was filmed in 2008 by award-winning film director Juanma Bajo Ulloa in the documentary titled "History of a Rock Band", a film that took both to many important international film festivals all over the world.

In 2015 Mariano released his first solo album titled "Al Final de la Ciudad Dormida". Two years later, in 2017, he began live performances at the Cinéma Majestic Passy in Paris, at the LAMC Festival in New York and in Tokyo, Fukuoka and Kamakura. This was the first part of his 2018 tour that continued with eight more concerts in 5 cities in Japan.

Even as a minority artist, or as some call "cult artist", Mariano Casanova is considered by professional critics as one of the great poets of Spanish music. Mariano declared before leaving on his last tour: "This new tour in Japan, which I am about to start, means a lot to me. This year I celebrate 40 years since my first performance as a child. That group that I started with, I named it Zen. Can you believe it? Do you not think it's wonderful to be celebrating this anniversary precisely in Japan? "

Pioneer with Bands Zen and Distrito 14

After his early childhood beginnings with his first rock band, at age 14 Mariano ventured out as a guitarist in an orchestra where all of his bandmates were two or three times older than him. He toured with them, getting to know a great bit of the Spanish geography while making a living. Then he was finally able to get what he craved most: his first Fender Stratocaster guitar and a Fender Twin Reverb amp. This made his childhood dreams come true, being able to form a rock band. Mariano Casanova founded Distrito 14 in the summer of 1982 as a guitarist and singer in most of the songs, taking over the singing in its entirety a short time later. After a brilliant start in his homeland, he immediately toured and recorded records outside of Spain. This was a tonic from the beginning until the end of the journey with Distrito 14:

As the lead of Distrito 14 he toured and recorded albums in Germany ("Hijos del Siglo XX" in 1984), Cuba ("A Mitad del Camino" in 1998) and in the USA ("Live in Chicago" in 1999). To date, Distrito 14 is the only foreign rock band that has toured the Cuban East and performed in the great Heredia Theater in Santiago de Cuba, obtaining the Diploma of the Cultural Athenaeum of that city in 1996. It was also the first foreign group to record a live album in that country. Elsewhere, in the USA, he began in 1997 playing in California and Las Vegas. They eventually established themselves between New York and Chicago between 1999 and 2001 while continuing to move from coast to coast, sometimes in such emblematic places as the great Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, or at Conferences and Festivals such as the SXSW in Austin, Texas, or the LAMC in New York.

In addition, with Distrito 14 Mariano Casanova is the only Spanish artist who shared tours in Spain with David Bowie, Placebo and with Sting as well as concerts with Peter Hammill. When discussing the extensive work of District 14 in Spain it is important to highlight precisely this album, "El Cielo lo Sabe" (1993), signed with EMI which launched them on their way to being a very well-known band.This album was also distributed in several other Spanish speaking countries. After the great success of initial sales and the appearance in all the Spanish media this ended abruptly after a few months due to dismissals in the artistic department of the company that had signed them. This occurred due to the first large record crisis worldwide. The inexplicable lack of interest on the part of the new managers at EMI brought the band to ask to cancel the contract in order to continue their career. Not without certain obstacles on the part of the company, they finally managed to get out of it and created their own record label "Grabaciones El Milagro" in 1994. Thus, from the most absolute independence,in the following years he recorded memorable albums such as "La Calle del Sol" (1995) inspired by the street where Mariano was born and grew up with his childhood friends, or the live album “Noches de Sol "(1996), “A Mitad del Camino: Distrito 14 en Cuba” (1998) and “Live in Chicago” (2000).

The Veruela Monastery

During the last years of District 14 it was formed by just three members and it is necessary to emphasize his decision to live in a Cistercian monastery during the winter of 2001. The chosen place was the "Monastery of Veruela" (S.XII) located in the foothills of the "Moncayo", a mountain range full of fantastic legends portrayed in the work of the great writer Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, who was also living in this monastery at the end of the nineteenth century. The band's isolation from the world produced two magnificent albums: One recorded in studio called "El Sueño de la Tortuga" (2004) and the other "Concert in Veruela" (2006), recorded live in the church of the monastery and released with the visual recording of the performance, plus a documentary about the monastic experience of that unforgettable winter.

History of a Rock Band

The last Distrito 14 concert after twenty-five years of history was celebrated in Saragossa on February 9, 2008, without even imagining that that final farewell to the stage would be better than any rock band could dream. In addition, the filming of that concert by the celebrated Spanish film director Juanma Bajo Ulloa was the origin of something much larger than expected, as he was in charge of bringing to the big screen the long and exciting story of Mariano and of Distrito 14. The result was the documentary film titled "Historia de un Grupo de Rock", with which Mariano Casanova and Bajo Ulloa shocked the public in a large number of important international film festivals in Latin America, Europe and USA, including the most important ones in Spain. Later, the CD "Distrito 14 & Amigos" was released with the last concert and another CD titled "Quedaron Atrás" with a selection of songs from throughout their history that had inexplicably been left unedited. Along with these demos were included two songs from the first unpublished Distrito 14 album recorded in Frankfurt (Germany) in 1984.

Al Final de La Ciudad Dormida

After the surprising end of Distrito 14 and after a long pause of eight years, Mariano Casanova recently released his first solo album titled "Al Final de la Ciudad Dormida" in which he is accompanied by great musicians, including his friend and bandmate during 25 years, Enrique Maravilla (Distrito 14), and guitarists Ramón Arroyo (Los Secretos) and ManéLarregla (Sinfonity).

Before presenting it officially, he put on a live performance in Paris and after this made a series of surprising video clips of several new songs, including one for the song "Domingo Lluvioso" with the Italian Circus and another for the song "De Colores" including a Dance whose origin is lost in time and that is celebrated in the darkness of the night under the unique light of torches.This mysterious and unknown celebration that remains alive in a small town of Spain, an hour and a half from Saragossa, is the "Contradanza de Cetina". Mariano received noteworthy recognition for these video clips, perhaps the most important being the Quevedo Prize awarded by the people of Cetina. He received this award just after the first part of the world tour, where he presented the new songs of the solo album as well as a selection of other songs from throughout his career.

Songs Trapped at the Dark Bottom of a River

Mariano Casanova says about his first solo album: "It's the book of my life that I've never had time to write. The long process of composition has been like freediving at the bottom of a river in dark and turbulent waters, groping, to the extreme limit, looking to find the hidden and essential answers trapped under the river bottom. People always ask me what kind of music I do, well, I've finally discovered the answer after many years, I create songs from the bottom of the river. "

To complete the celebration of his 40th anniversary on the stage, Mariano Casanova returned to Japan in 2018 for a tour of eight concerts in 5 cities: Tokyo, Kamakura, Kyoto, Nagoya and Fukuoka. During this tour, in addition to his best-known songs, he presented new songs that will be part of his second solo album that will be recorded during 2019. Japan -Playing in a ZenTemple

This is what Mariano said on the night of August 31, 2018 about one of the exciting concerts during this tour: "Today I played at a Zen temple in Fukuoka. It was one of the most important performances of my life. This is a temple located in the same precinct of the first Zen temple built in Japan. I did not tell anyone about this concert since it was a performance only for the monks and the temple community. It's a long story about how I ended up here that I hope to tell someday. 40 years have passed since, as children, we gave our first performance with our band named Zen. Today, in this unthinkable scenario, I remembered allof my bandmates who played together that first time at the entranceway of the neighborhood church in front of so many friends from our childhood. I dedicated the last song to all of them. I wish they could have been there with me to celebrate my 40th anniversary. "

Experiential Music: Between the Everyday and the Dreamlike

Mariano Casanova has always been a "rare bird" in the Spanish music scene, on the boundaries of styles and fashions. And his new solo career confirms him even more as a free, unique artist, distiller of the essence of Spanish music and art in an intimate and personal way. Some critics speak of him as the creator of "Rockmanticism" or "Romantic Rock", others find reasons to speak of him as a clear exhibitor, if not creator, of "Art-Rock Español", heir of authors like Kevin Ayers, Robert Wyatt and Peter Hammill. In short, he is a creator of songs born from the soul, vivid songs, with a unique way of interpreting using his unmistakable gravelly voice. A musician for musicians, admired and considered among the profession as one of the greatest composers and lyricists in Spanish music and a confessed admirer in turn of Spanish authors such as Jesus de La Rosa (Triana), Joan Manuel Serrat, Miguel Rios, Antonio Vega, Lole and Manuel and Paco de Lucía among others.

Mariano Casanova has declared multiple times that he understands music, and art in general, “as an essential path of knowledge”. One of the fundamental features in Mariano Casanova’s work is his faithful attachment to the landscape of his childhood; the neighborhood, the division by the river and the arid land that surrounds everything are protagonists in many of the images displayed in his lyrics. The landscape present in his writing is well recognizable, but Mariano uses it in his stories by generating a space charged with great spiritual content. Undoubtedly, this seemingly simple combination of the everyday and the dream, between the normalcy of the street and the deep inner world, coupled with the peculiarity of his voice and the personality of his compositions.These are the principle characteristics of the music created by artist from the La Jota neighborhood in Zaragoza.

・Distrito14はスペイン、ドイツ、キューバ、アメリカ合衆国でアルバムを録音した。その中でもアメリカ合衆国がグループの活動で一番数多くの録音作業をした場所だ。スペインではデヴィッド・ボウイ、スティングなどのアーティストたちとツアーをした。そのほかにも偉大なアーティストたちとアルバムやライブで協働し、今でもその関係は続いている。Distrito14での驚異的かつ感動的な彼の経歴は、著名な映画監督フアンマ・バホ=ウジョアの手で「あるロックバンドの歴史」というタイトルで2008年に撮影され、世界中の有力な映画祭で上映される。

・2015年、マリアノは初のソロアルバム“Al Final de la Ciudad Dormida”「眠りこけた都市の終わりで」を制作する。2年後、2017年にはライブ活動を始め、パリのシネマ・マジェスティック・パッシー、ニューヨークのLAMCフェスティバル、東京、福岡、鎌倉などで公演を行う。今回8月15日に行うライブが再来日ツアーの幕開けとなる。その後、東京から、京都、名古屋へと移動する。このツアーは今年の終わりまで続き、メキシコ、アメリカ合衆国でその幕を閉じる予定だ。合衆国では2019年に二枚目のソロアルバムの録音が予定されている。

・マイナーな、あるいは「カルト」な存在としても知られるアーティストでありながら、マリアノ・カサノバは多くの人々にスペイン音楽界の偉大な詩人として評価されている。マリアノの最近の発言では「この日本での二度目のツアーは、プロフェッショナルなレベルでも重要な意味を持つものだけれど、でもそれ以上に内面的かつ個人的に重要なものなんだ。小僧のときにやった最初の人前での演奏から、今年は40周年なんだ。その時のバンド名はZenだった。わかるかな？日本でこの記念日を祝えるなんて素敵なことだと思わないかい？」

Mariano Casanova

マリアノ・カサノバは1964年スペイン・サラゴサ市出身のミュージシャン。1982年結成のロックバンドDistrito 14（ディストリート　カトルセ、訳は14区）の創立メンバーで作曲、ボーカル、ギタリストとして幅広く活動をする。

マリアノの音楽は子供の頃にはじめて結成した「ＺＥＮ」というロックグループから始まり、そのバンド名からも当時からすでに東洋哲学や文化に興味があった。はじめて地元の教会の前で演奏した時は１３歳だった。

ディストリート　カトルセ時代

結成2年後の1984年にはドイツでデビュー作をレコーディング、その後キューバで初の外国人ミュージシャンとして全国ツアー及びライブ録音を行った。以降長年にわたりニューヨークを拠点にアメリカ全土でツアーを展開、またシカゴでライブ録音するなど、その活躍はスペインはもちろんアメリカにも幅広く知られている。

2008年2月、25年間続いた活動は故郷のサラゴサでの解散コンサートをもって幕を閉じた。そしてこの解散コンサートはスペインの有名な映画監督ホアンマ　バホ　ウジョア（Juanma Bajo Ulloa）によってドキュメンタリー映画化された。ディストリート　カトルセは今日ではスペインロック界の神話的な存在なのだ。

「あるロックグループの物語」と題されるこの映画はヨーロッパやアメリカ、特にラテンアメリカでの数々の国際映画祭や、スペインにおいても高く評価された。そしてこの映画によってマリアノ・カサノバのラストコンサートは映画評論や映画ファンに広く知れわたることになった。

ディストリート・カトルセとコラボした数多くのアーティストの中には、オリー・ハルソール（ケビン・エアーズ及びジョン・ケイル、ニコのギタリスト）、エル・ネグリ（パコ・デ・ルシアのバンドのフラメンコ歌手）、ホセミ・カルモナ（パコ・デ・ルシアのバンドのフラメンコギタリスト）だどが上げられる。

また長年の活動の中では世界的アーティストの公演に多数前座出演したことも忘れてはならない。たとえばデヴィッド・ボーイのスペイン全国ツアー、またピーター・ハミル、ジャクソン・ブラウン、ジョニー・サンダース、ジャガーズなどと数え切れないほどのアーティストとスペイン内外でコラボしたことだ。

ソロ活動

マリアノ・カサノバは2015年「眠れる街のおわりに」という初のソロアルバムを発表、すばらしいミュージシャンたちに出会い彼らと共に新たに第一歩を踏み出した。アルバムのスペイン語題Al final de la ciudad dormida”　アル　フィナール　デラ　シウダ。

「このアルバムはこれまでの私の半生を綴った1冊の本のようだ。」と振り返る。「私は膨大な時間を費やして、暗く乱流の川の底の泥に隠された　“答え、あるいは何か” を手探りで自身の限界まで探しながら自問した。自分はどんな音楽がしたいのか？　長い年月の末の私の答えは “川底ロック”だった。」

スペイン音楽界において、そのスタイルやファッションは常に唯一な存在であったが、それに加え今回のニューアルバムでは心の底を反映した、自由でユニークな音楽要素と芸術性、そしてスペインロックの真髄、マリアノの個性も十分感じさせられる作品である。その歌詞は詩情に満ちており、まるで詩人がスペイン語でロックを歌うかのようだ。
